Gabrielle Seltz and Frederic Tuten @ McNally Jackson

Join Gabrielle Seltz TODAY for a reading and discussion from her new book with the great Frederic Tuten, author, most recently, of Self-Portraits: Fictions. In 1958, Selz moved to New York, where her father, Peter Selz, would begin his job as the chief curator of painting and sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art. He would carry on to champion a generation of modern artists, some the most celebrated of the day: Rothko, de Kooning, and Tinguely. A memoir of Selz's complicated relationship to the glamour and chaos of the art world, and of her father's often difficult combination of charisma and unreliability, The Unstill Life is at once a chronicle of American culture and a look at the real lives behind it. Gabrielle Selz has published in magazines and newspapers including More magazine, the New York Times, Newsday and Fiction. She writes regularly on art for the
Huffington Post. She lives in Southampton, New York.
